Martin Ernest Geissler, 101, of Temple died peacefully in his sleep Monday Morning, November 18, 2019 in a local hospital. He was born December 24, 1927, in Bucklin, KA to Otto Geissler and Katherine Nessell Geissler.
He served his country in the Pacific theater of WWII. In 1945 he married Aline Hermine Schroeder, and they resided in California. He was honorably discharged in 1955 achieving the rank f Captain. He was awarded the Silver Star for actions above and beyond the call of duty.
He was self-employed owning several businesses in his lifetime. He moved to Temple in 2013. As a life-long Christian, he attended Temple Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife and elder son, Ralph. He is survived by one son, Gerald, of California, two daughters, Sherry Rood and husband Bill of Linden, California, and Dianne Sula and husband Wayne Sula of Temple, a sister Dolly Jones of Visalia, California, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was loved, admired and respected by his children, family and many friends.
