

Norma Jean Swearingen, formerly of Waco and Carrollton, died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 11th in Temple. A celebration of her life will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 1:00.
Norma was born in San Angelo on February 18, 1926. She met the love of her life, Ralph Swearingen in San Angelo, and they married on Oct. 2, 1943. She was a devoted officer’s wife during her husband’s 22 years in the Air Force and they traveled extensively until his retirement in 1963. They settled in Waco and later Carrollton where they made many lasting friendships and enjoyed playing golf.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ralph L. Swearingen, son Skip Swearingen and wife, Pat, of Wichita, KS, daughters Cindy Painter and husband Milton of Carrollton, Suzanne Harris and husband Buck of Salado, and Ellen Coker of Hewitt. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Meridian Senior Living Center for making our Mother's last few years so comfortable and fun. Also her two sweet neighbors, Patsy Dillon & Margie Woods for being her guardian angels.
