After graduating from Westhill High School in 1974, he enlisted in the US Air Force. His first duty station was Hahn AFB, Germany, in 1975. There he would meet the love of his life, Debora Lynn Beck (recent grad and a dependent).
Ray was honorably discharged on June 6,1978. The couple settled in Asheville, NC, near Ray's parents. They were married on May 4,1979. Ray was hired on by a new manufacturing plant, Wilsonart, in July of 1979. He worked his way up to Parts Room Foreman. In their 16 years in NC, they would live in three homes and add 3 children to their family.
In 1995, the decision was made to transfer within the company to Temple, TX. Ray would spend 19 more years with the company and retired in January of 2014.
Ray lived and loved life to the fullest. He shared his talents, wit and wisdom. He involved himself in his children and the community. He was a THS Band "Grunt" for 10 years, supporting the boys in the Marching Band. He was a sports enthusiast, loved Football, Tennis and all Motor Sports. He enjoyed rides on his Harley,celebrating holidays with family, grilling a fine meal and listening to Classic Rock. He will be deeply missed by all those whose life he touched.
Ray leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Debora, daughter, Sara Reinstatler/William, of Beavercreek, OH; son, Dustin Henretty/Kelley, of Caldwell, TX ; son, Kevin Henretty/Helena, of Azle, TX. His cherished grandchildren, Patrick, Teresa, Hannah, Michael, Andrew, Claire, Brigid, Margret, Peter & Mary Reinstatler; Mollie & Olivia Henretty; Lee Henretty. Also to include, Brother-in-law Larry Beck/Marcine of Apple Valley CA ; Sister-in-law Shirley Lilly/James of Austin, TX.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Martha Henretty, sisters, Linda Fischer, Carol Kelaher-Blanchette & Gerri Sherman. Debora's parents, Bobby Lee Beck & Hermine (Bigl) Beck.
A Memorial service is to be held at St. Luke Catholic Church on Friday June 27, 2025 at 10 am. Inurnment will be at 1 pm at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX, 11463 TX-195, 76542.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke stained glass restoration project.
