Rebecca Blaine McGinnis

Rebecca, known by many as Becky, was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. We are saddened to announce that on March 7, 2021, Becky left this world to be with God, after her lengthy battle with COPD, at the age of 69.

Becky was born in McAllen, TX on January 11, 1952 to Bette and Tom Peacock. After moving to Austin, TX and graduating from John H. Reagan High School in 1970, Becky attended

college at Southwest Texas State University (Texas State).

Becky met Johnny McGinnis in Austin, was married, and in 1979 had their daughter, Shauna Robinson (McGinnis). In 1986, Becky and Shauna moved to Boston, MA, where she became the billing and collections manager at the prestigious law firm, Burns & Levinson. She made many friends and colleagues there, many of whom she kept in touch with years later. In 2003, Becky and Shauna moved back to central Texas where she began her real estate career in Bastrop, TX, winning various awards, including Bastrop County Realtor of the Year. She also served on the Bastrop County Board of Realtors as President.

Becky enjoyed spending time with her family whenever possible. She loved the beach, hunting for one-of-a-kind treasures at thrift and antique stores, gardening, cooking and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter, Shauna Robinson, her granddaughter, who was the absolute light of her life, Abigail Coe, and her nephews, Joseph, and Charles Cummings and his wife Sheryl.

Aside from the children she doted on, Becky is survived by her Sister, Mary Hudgins. Although, as anyone who knew them would say, Becky and Lindy were inseparable and were much more than sisters, they were best friends.

Becky is preceded in death by her Mother, Bette Lenzo, Stepfather, Robert Lenzo, Father, Tom Peacock, Grandmother Josephine Ponder, and Grandfather, James Ponder.
