Richard Turner

Richard Ray Turner 90 of Temple, formerly of Copperas Cove passed away July 17,2025 at his home. Where Richard was cared for by his loving Granddaughter Angela Long for his last years. Richard was born April 27, 1935, in Colchester, Vt., Son of late Augustus and Emma Turner. Richard met the love of his life Rita Zangerlein in Germany. They were Married in Kitzingen, Germany March 16, 1957, they were married for 64 years. Richard retired from the United States Army as a First Sargent after serving 21 years. Richard then retired from Lone Star Gas after 20 Years. He was a wonderful husband and father. Richard loved the outdoors, being with family and being surrounded by all his great neighbors. Richard is survived by his four children: Alfred Turner and wife Virgi, Joachim Mohr and wife Agnes, Carol Strader, Janet Long and husband Tommy. Richard has 15 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and Cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Rita, daughter Donna Davis, his brother Bobby and his sisters Barbara, Beverly, Laura, Connie, Shirley and his parents Augustus and Emma. Memorial Services will be held Saturday July 26, 2025, 11:00am at First Baptist Church in Moffat, Tx. Burial services will be held at Copperas Cove Cemetery August 16, 2025 at 11:00am.
