Since I've heard the news, a flood of Texas memories has consumed my waking hours. I think of those famous Texas barbeques, full of hospitality, laughter, and the best food I've ever eaten. As a family, you embraced me as one of your own . . . and I am so glad we reconnected last July in my travels through Texas. A bear hug from Sam was always filled with love and his southern gentleman charm and manners will be remember fondly. My thoughts and prayers to Helen, Larry, Jeff, and Hona, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren; I'm sure a hole 'as big as Texas" is in your hearts with this loss to your family.
