Adam Dale Thompson

Adam Dale Thompson, age 48, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away, unexpectedly, in his sleep on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022. Adam was a book narrator for Audible. He was born in Fort Hood, Texas on July 16th, 1973. His family relocated to Terre Haute when he was a young child. He graduated from North High School in 1992 and attended college classes at Ivy Tech Community College. Adam was a self-proclaimed nerd and loved all things Transformers, Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, DC, Marvel, and Doctor Who. He loved watching movies, playing video games, and reading. He was also excellent at trivia and loved playing along with the gameshow, Jeopardy. He usually got most of the questions correct. He was a talented singer and loved singing live karaoke and recording songs on Singsnap.com and Star Maker. “Purple Rain” by Prince was his signature song, but he also loved to sing songs by Hank Williams, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and John Denver. He competed in several singing competitions and did quite well. Though he liked most genres of music, he was particularly fond of country from the 80s and 90s. Adam was a wiz with computers and all things electronic. If it was broken, he could fix it. If he didn’t know how to work it, he could figure it out in moments. He was everyone’s “tech guy” and family and friends called him more times than they could possibly count to help out with computers, phones, gaming systems, and car stereos. Adam enjoyed taking road trips. Over the past few years he had traveled to Nashville, Tennessee; Niagara Falls, New York; Hershey, Pennsylvania; Salem, Massachusetts, and Portland, Maine. He was planning a road trip adventure to Colorado and Wyoming in May. He is survived by his parents, Billie Jean (Brewer) and George Thompson of Terre Haute, a younger brother, George Thompson Jr. of Terre Haute, nephews Hunter and Bentley Thompson of Terre Haute, step brother Dan Thompson and his wife Chris Thompson of Washington state and step brother Phil Thompson and his wife Shelly Thompson of Florida, his “person” Nancy Jane Thompson of Terre Haute, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life for Adam will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home so friends and family can get together, share fond memories, and say goodbye.
