Anna Mae Strange

Anna M. Strange, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, September 08, 2013 at Union Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1931, in Terre Haute to William Paul and Frances (Benefield) Emery. She married Frank Strange and together they raised two sons. Anna worked for many years as a Quality Analyst for Columbia Records. She later went to work in the cafeteria at Rio Grande Elementary School. In her spare time, Anna enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and mushroom hunting in the spring. She was a member of VFW Post 972 Ladies Auxiliary. Anna is survived by her sons: Larry Strange and wife Beverly of Maryville, TN; and Ronnie Strange of Terre Haute; grandcdhildren, Craig Strange and wife Jenny of Maryville, Jesse Hargis of Daego, South Korea; and Ryan Jones of Terre Haute; a niece Debbie Wilmoth of Gainesville, FL; and nephews, Steve Emery of Sweet Water, TN; David Emery of Madisonville, TN, and Bryan Emery of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, a sister Mary Ellen McDaniel, and a brother, Gerald Emery. Visitation will be held from 11 until 12:30 on Thursday, September 12 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 12:30 on Thursday at the funeral home.
