Barbara Jo Lawrence

Barbara Lawrence, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away at her home at 9:07 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2014. She was born in Terre Haute on July 12, 1936, to Orval Blankenship and Victoria Jones Blankenship. She graduated from Highland Academy in Portland, Tenn. She also received a master’s degree from Indiana State University. She worked her way up from secretary to director of custodial services, waste management and training services at Indiana State University. She retired from ISU after 35 years of service. Barbara was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Orval Blankenship and Victoria Jones Blankenship; and also her brother, Norman Blankenship; and her sister, Deloris Brandom.

Barbara was the wife of 60 years to John Nelson Lawrence. She is survived by her four daughters, Camellia Sue Setliff and her husband, Rick, Sherry Ann Willis and her husband Garry Ralph, Brenda Kay Thompson and her husband Kenneth, and Alohna Z. Lawrence Morrow.

Barbara is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Norval Blankenship, Arthur Blankenship, Patricia Johnson and Carole Elwell, along with their spouses.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan and Jonathan Goshen, Mike Foster, Logan Thompson, and Camille and Bethany Morrow. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Drew, Cole, Toby, Kaelin and Grayson Goshen; and Riley Foster; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. in Terre Haute. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetary. Online condolences can be made at: www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
