Betty Rose Snyder

Betty Rose (Lewis) Snyder, 97, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Springhill Village with her family by her side. Betty was born on August 26, 1928, to Jesse and Eula (Williams) Lewis in West Terre Haute, Indiana. Betty was one of seven children: Milton, James, Vera, Florence, Jesse and Charles.

Betty was a 1947 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. She held several jobs throughout her life, working at CBS, Stein Mart and owning and operating her own daycare. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family. She loved reading, knitting and shopping. She was always active in her church and continued in the nursing home.

On June 15, 1947, Betty married Leonard Snyder. Together they had five children: Carol Rose, Nancy Lynn, Beverly Jo, Leonard Russell and Teresa Kay.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Eula; siblings, Milton, James, Vera, Florence and Jesse; and her husband, Leonard.

Betty is survived by her children: Carol (Steven) Thompson, Nancy (George) Goetschel, Beverly (Hank) Labonde, Leonard ( Anita) Russell and Teresa Craft; Grandchildren: Stephanie, Kathie, James, Matt, Chris, Jonathon, Sarah, Josh, Michael, Marissa, Morgan and Nate; seventeen Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great-Grandchildren with one on the way, a brother, Charles Lewis and a large extended family.

Services for Betty will be on Friday, January 9. 2026 at 1:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
