Carolyn Sue Maxwell

Carolyn Sue Maxwell, age 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Terre Haute to Robert W. Laughrey and Josephine Catterlin Laughrey. She was a graduate of Garfield High School class of 1960. After high school she attended Smart Appearance Beauty School, where she received her certification as a beautician. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ted Laughrey and a sister, Shirley Vester. Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Jim Maxwell; a son, Scott Maxwell; one granddaughter, Brittney Maxwell and fiance Logan Ishisaka; and three great-grandchildren, Avi, Logan Jr., Jameson; a sister, Bonnie Lu and husband Carl; a brother-in-law, Donald Maxwell and wife Kathleen; her dog, Chloe; and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading cookbooks, and her dogs. She was known for her immaculate housekeeping. Family gatherings were for testing new recipes. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carolyn's memory may be shared with the Terre Haute Humane Society.
