

Catherine Morris (Wright) was born July 14th, 1933 to James and Henrietta Wright (Barksdale) in Sardis, Mississippi. She was the middle daughter of five siblings; Willie Arthur, Annie Mae, James Monroe, Thomas James, and Henrietta Lee, all of whom have preceded her in death. She has one surviving stepsister, Rosemary Gassion of Gary, Indiana. Her family relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1944 as part of the historic Great Migration from the southern states.
She joined the workforce as a domestic worker for several years before being hired by the US Postal Service where she worked for 29 years before retiring and moving to Terre Haute, Indiana in 1993.
She was the beloved mother of six children; Mary Cathy (who has preceded her in death), Barbara Jean, Carl, Andrew, Dilva Arlena and Kim. She was the proud grandmother of ten, great grandmother of eleven and great, great grandmother of four.
During her life she enjoyed hunting for and collecting antiques along with beautiful flowers and going to the theater. She also enjoyed spending time with her family hosting family dinners and entertaining friends. When she was no longer able to go like she use to, you could find her watching her favorite show HGTV.
She became a Jehovah's Witness in the late 1970's, devoting her life to the Heavenly Father. Attending The General Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses was the highlight of the year for her until she was no longer able to attend due to failing health. She remained a faithful servant to Jehovah until her death on August 25th, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and spiritual brothers and sisters in the kingdom ministry who she hopes to be reunited with one day.
