Cheri L. Walton

Cheri was a 1975 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Liberty Bells. She was a member of the Terre Haute Elk's Club, The Marine Corps League, Job's Daughters and a member of the Union Hospital Ladies's Auxiliary. Cheri worked at the I.S.U. Federal Credit Union. She loved spending time in her pool or on the beach as well as visiting casinos. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughters and granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Steve and Gary Rust; her father in-law, John Walton; and a brother in-law, Ronald Walton.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Walton, whom she married July 27, 1991; her two daughters, Stacey Brown of Greenwood and Sylvia Burnett and her husband Jason of New Palestine, Ind. Other survivors include one brother, Clinton Rust and his wife Pam of Terre Haute; a sister, Judy Taylor and her husband David of Muncie; her mother in-law, Mary Walton; sister in-law, Jackie Walton; brother-in-law, Don Walton and Nikki. She also is survived by two granddaughters, Madelyn and Faith Burnett; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday. Pastor Chris Wilbur will be officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Terre Haute Humane Society, The American Cancer Society or to the charity of their choice.
