Christina Dyan Lamb, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and an amazing force of a woman left her earthly body on the evening of Monday, March 29, 2022. She packed a lot of life into 45 years. Chris was born on March 23, 1977, in Terre Haute, to David Andrew and Linda Dyan (Plummer) Pressley.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James “Jim” Lamb; daughters, Chloe Lamb, Kerrigan Butts, Aubrey Butts, and Emma Lamb; mother, Linda Pressley; brother, Craig Pressley and wife Jana and their children, Micah and Samuel; and former husband and co-parent, Stephen Butts.
Chris was welcomed into Heaven by her father, David Pressley, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Elizabeth Plummer; and paternal grandparents, Fred Pressley, Helen Pressley, and Mary Shores Pressley.
Chris attended Riley Elementary, Honey Creek Middle School, Terre Haute South, Lee University in Tennessee, and Ivy Tech Community College and worked as a nurse for VNA. When she was young, Chris and her brother, Craig, were active in the Terre Haute Church of God youth group and choir.
Chris had a passion and a gift for nursing. She drew her empathy and compassion for her patients from her own experiences as a mother of a 24 week old preemie. She used her nurturing and love that she learned from helping her own tiny daughter grow and thrive to help her most vulnerable patients, whether she was providing care to women, school children, or within prison walls. Chris’ tenderness and compassion knew no boundaries, just like her love. When she met her husband Jim and his two young daughters, she was quick to take the girls under her wing as her own.
Chris loved to spend time with her family and always looked forward to their vacations to Florida. She was an auxiliary member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. Chris loved to spend time riding on the Harley with Jim or out on the water on their pontoon boat. Jim was her sweetie. She was a fantastic and creative cook. Chris was artistic and enjoyed sketching. She loved her dogs. Her many years of helping patients take on health challenges prepared Chris for her own challenges as her health began to decline. She was able to still take care of her family, be a devoted wife, loving and involved mother, and a dynamic daughter, sister, and aunt, all while going to dialysis and doctor’s appointments. While her physical presence will be missed, her light still shines through the souls she has touched.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Jackson and J.R. Wilson officiating. Chris will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help further Chris’ four daughters’ education. A special savings account has been set up at Fifth Third Bank under James Lamb’s name, zip code 47842, all donations may be directed to that account in her honor.
