Darlene spent many years living in Alaska. While living there, she was a homesteader and also learned how to pilot a plane. She worked as a bookkeeper for a meat packing plant and later for dress making establishment. Darlene loved to craft in her spare time, especially crocheting, knitting, ceramics, and oil painting. She had a love for learning and embraced technology. She enrolled herself in community college classes when personal computers were just becoming popular so she could learn how to operate them. Darlene enjoyed playing cards and didn’t care whether she won or lost. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved children and treated all her cousins, nieces, and nephews as if they were her own.
Darlene is survived by her cousins, Fritzie Edwards of Terre Haute and David Hof and wife Laura of South Dakota; nieces, Dottie King and husband Wayne of Terre Haute and Penny Arney and husband Kevin of Ft.
