Dolores A. Burcham

Dolores A. Burcham went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 24, 2017 at the age of 82 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by loved-ones. She was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana to James and Mary Nardi. Dolores graduated from Otter Creek High School in Terre Haute in 1952. She was married to Darrell Burcham of Robinson, Illinois for forty one years and their travels together led them from a stint in Canada to a thirty year career in Texas. Dolores enjoyed her role in education for twenty plus years working at the District level office for the superintendent. As a passionate cook, her favorite recipes were her homemade pastas that brought together the family and embraced her Italian heritage. Dolores enjoyed shopping especially for clothes, not only for herself, but for her daughters-in-law and grandchildren. A good book was never far from reach, and she enjoyed swapping these with family and friends. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that was constantly giving and always made time for her family. She will be dearly missed.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Douglas; and their respective wives, Sherri and Sharon; and her five grandchildren: Brian, Morgan, Cody, Michael, and Katie. She is also survived by three cousins, Betty Mooney, Joe Claretto and, James Nardi, a sister-in-law Ruth Burcham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on August 19th at 11:00 am at Roselawn Funeral Home. Dolores will be laid to rest with her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of MC of New Braunfels for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in Dolores’ honor.
