Obituary of Donna Jean Harrison
In Loving Memory of Donna Jean Harrison (November 1, 1946 – December 19, 2023) Donna Jean Harrison, a beacon of love and joy, passed away on December 19, 2023, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of boundless kindness. Born on November 1, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph Donald Harrison and Lois Lucille Harrison. Donna grew up on a picturesque farm in Rosedale, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her parents and five siblings, Betty Paddock, Tom Harrison, Dick Harrison, Harry Harrison, and Gary Harrison. Donna’s four brothers preceded her in death. The vast landscapes of the family farm became the backdrop to Donna's formative years, shaping her character and instilling in her the enduring values of hard work, resilience, and familial bonds. From the moment Donna became an aunt, she embraced the role with unparalleled dedication. She swiftly became everyone's Aunt Donna, a title she wore with pride and grace. Though she never had children of her own, Donna's nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, and later, her great-nieces and great-nephews and beyond continued to expand the circle of love she so willingly offered. Aunt Donna's love knew no bounds. She was the dependable carpool driver, the comforting shoulder to lean on, and the enthusiastic cheerleader on the sidelines of every sporting event. Her joy and encouragement knew no limits, and she reveled in the achievements and milestones of each cherished family member. What set Aunt Donna apart was her remarkable ability to connect with others. She never knew a stranger, and her warm, friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure in the community. Whether in the grocery store checkout line, at a ball game, or sharing a meal in a restaurant, Aunt Donna would strike up a conversation, always ready to share a kind word, a smile, or even a lighthearted joke. Aunt Donna’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant spirit that she brought to our lives. She will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know the warmth of her embrace. A funeral service to honor Aunt Donna's life will be held privately for the family at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association for Alzheimer’s and Dementia research. May Aunt Donna rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave to others.
