

Dorothy V. Cox, 93, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in her daughter’s residence in Terre Haute. She retired from MAB Paints in Terre Haute after many years of service. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Linton, to Virgil and Ethel Trinkle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell G. Cox. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Garry R. Cox and Judith K. Cox of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce A. Simpson and Ron Simpson of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Leslee Saylor and her husband Dan, Ross Simpson and his wife Jill, Karen Waldrop, Troy Carson and his wife Lori, and Jeff Carson; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Rogers; two brothers, Hubert Trinkle and Dutch Trinkle; and two sisters, Iris Tryon and Freda Taylor.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in West Terre Haute and she was a past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter at New Goshen.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Colleen Harden officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and prior to services Tuesday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley with envelopes available in the funeral home.
