

Eida Roberts, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family. Eida was born on October 24, 1940, in La Punta de Maisi, Cuba to Eccehomo Figueras and Celia Duran. She married Fred “John” Oran Roberts, Jr., on July 18, 1958.
Eida is survived by her children, Elizabeth Roberts, Viola Porter, Fred Oran Roberts III, and Alicia Holloway; siblings, Elba Lantiqua Figueras, Edetis Figueras, Eder Figueras, Esmida Rivera Figueras, Elvis Figueras, Enen Figueras, and Even Figueras; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Fred “John” Roberts, Jr.; and a daughter, Celia Iris Roth.
Eida was born and raised in Cuba, immigrating to the United States after she met and married the love of her life, John Roberts while he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay. She was an active member of The Journey Church. She was blessed with a green thumb and was an excellent gardener. Her plants thrived throughout the year, thanks to her tender care. She was a wonderful cook and spent many years cooking for the residents at Meadows Manor North. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Eida will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
