She was born December 8, 1923, in Vigo County, to Ernest and Memie Burton.
Survivors are sons, Gary Cooper and wife Jerry Ann, James R. Cooper and wife Georgia, Ron Cooper and wife Carolyn, Joe Cooper and Carol, John Cooper and wife Brenda, Dennis Cooper and wife Jeannie. One Brother Bobby Burton, 21grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren, 6great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special niece, Jeannie Switzer.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, and brothers and sisters.
Services will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 12:00 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home with visitation from 10 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Herb. On line condolences can be made at www.mattoxwood.com
