Ethel Ann Montgomery

She was born in Terre Haute, to Priscilla Rose and Julius John Kosko.

She attended Riley and Sacred Heart Grade Schools and Gerstmeyer High School. She worked at the Stamping Mill and Retired from Bemis Co.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Montgomery and her parents, and her sister.

She is survived by her daughters and their families: Julia Ann Aue and her husband Ronald of Carterville, IL and Rae Ann Miller and her husband Craig of Loveland, OH; grandchildren, Sherrie Runge and her husband Ronnie and Kimberlee Wharton, both of Carterville, IL; Brandy Shaw and her husband Alex of Virginia Beach, VA; Evan Miller and Scotty Miller, both of Loveland, OH; great-grandchildren, Lara, Jessie, and Rachelle Runge of Virginia Beach; Derek and Brittany Elhers of Virginia Beach; Toney Kroese of Carterville; Eric, Zachary, Alexis, and Brady Shaw of Virginia Beach; and great-great-grandchidlren, Brayden and Brooklyn Elhers of Virginia Beach.

Ethel was a devout catholic and devoted mother. She loved spending time with family traveling the states seeking new adventures. She was a meticulous quilter and she enjoyed playing bingo with friends. She loved entertaining and it gave her much joy doing good deeds for others. Ethel will be fondly remembered for her charming, charismatic personality, her contagious laugh, and infectious smile. She was deeply loved by many, kind to all, and will be missed forever.

Visitation will be held from 10 until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.thomasfuneralhome.net
