WEST UNION, Ill. — Louise Marvin, 99, left this life to go home to the Lord Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and caregivers telling her how much she was loved and would be missed. She was a resident of The Villas of Holly Brook in Marshall, since 2009. She was born Aug. 31, 1916, the second child of Edgar and Elsie (Riegel) Cox.
Louise was a graduate of Hutsonville High School. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother and an honorable woman of integrity who intensely loved God, her family, her friends, and her country. She lived most of her life in West Union, where she and her husband Bill ran Marvin’s General Store, farmed, and were members of the West Union Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Bill Marvin; parents, Edgar and Elsie Cox; brother and sister-in-law, Riegel and Evelyn Cox; and son-in-law, Hansel Lankford. She is survived by daughter, Sandra Lankford; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill Owens; and grandsons, Erik and Brent Lankford.
Louise is now at peace and filled with joy for all eternity, and all her loved ones will soon see her when we go to meet the Lord. She is already missed terribly, and the family asks for prayers of comfort, peace, and guidance as they learn to live life without her strong hand.
A time of visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Les Leighty officiating. Private burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute will follow at a later time.
