Fortunato "Zeke" Zanotti, age 91 of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Susan Zanotti in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born August 19, 1923 in Blanford, Indiana. He was the son of the late Fortunato and Francesca Avenatti Zanotti of Blanford, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mafalda Baylis of Rock Falls, Illinois, Mary Drake of Paris, Illinois and a brother Cleto Zanotti of Dallas, Texas. Zeke was a graduate of Clinton High, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was the love of his life and wife for 66 years, Louise (Rovi) who passed away February 18, 2013. He is survived by two daughters, Diane Baxter (Bob) of Highlands, NC and Susan Zanotti of Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Angela Walls (Jay) one great-grandson, Darren Zaremba; one great-great-grandson, Noah Zaremba, all of Terre Haute; two grandsons, Josh Baxter (Catherine) and great-grandson Burke; and Tyler Baxter (Stephanie) all of Atlanta; nieces, Jackie Forsythe and Vickie Robertson (Jim) of Clinton; and Sharon Bibby of Martinsville.
Zeke was proud of his service in the United States Navy and membership in the Masonic Lodge in Clinton. He loved his music and certainly is dancing in Heaven with his "Babe" Louise. Friends have told his daughters that it was "love at first sight for those two”. We will miss them terribly but smile when we think of them once again together in Heaven. Per their request, there will be no services or visitation. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family is thankful for his loving caregivers; Angel, Susan and Connie and daughter Susan and granddaughter Angela. A big thank you to a dear family friend, Chip Gray. Zeke & Chip spent many an hour together during past several years. They had a special bond of friendship.
