Frank W. Hughes

Frank graduated from ISTC’s “Lab School” or State High in the class of 1951.He went out to Rose Poly for his Freshman year of college, and then he went into the US Army for 3 years. Returning from the Army, he went to ISTC, graduating in 1958. He then went and received his Master's Degree in 1960 with a degree in teaching Math and Science. He started his teaching career at Clinton High School in 1958, moved to Garfield High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1962 and progressed to North Vigo in 1971 where he retired in 1990.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Peggy (Foltz) Hughes, a daughter J. Anne Doty, grandson, Sutton and Danielle Doty and 3 great-grandchildren, Sylas, Ariya, and Myles Doty, two step grandsons,Timmy(Katrina)Doty and their children, Vinny and Guerin, Sam(Hao),two nieces, Martha Pinkus and Sue Murphy and their families of Dayton, Ohio.

Preceding him in death were a son, Rob Hughes, his parents, a sister, Mary Tripp, and an aunt, Mable Anstead.

Frank was a member of Locust St. E.U.B. church when it became a Methodist Church. He attended Memorial, Rosedale and Wayside United Methodist Churches. Frank will leave a lot of friends and former students. Online condolences can be made at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net

Services will be held Friday August 28, 2020 at 2PM with visitation from 12-2 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Fagg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wayside United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
