

George Phillip Knezevich, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at Union Hospital with Family & Friends on June 24th, 2026. He was born on April 19th 1954, in Terre Haute. Indiana. He was the son of George Knezevich Jr. and Margaret (Peg) Eickmeier Knezevich. George was preceded in death by his Parents & Sister Diann. He is survived by his wife Ellen Knezevich; Son, Matt Knezevich (wife Brooke); Son, Luke Knezevich; Daughter, Andrea Donham (husband Jonathan); Grandchildren, Amueri, Harper, Bennett & Eden. He was a Brother to Delight A. Allen, Diann M. Knezevich, Garri M. Knezevich, Denise R. Knezevich, Dollie M. Underwood (husband Dave), and Gene F. Knezevich. George is also survived by several nieces and nephews Richard Allen, Laurelei Allen, Jennie Darling, Sam Underwood, Clayton Underwood, Blake Knezevich, Brandon Knezevich and Bailey Knezevich. He also has Many great-nieces, nephews, Cousins & Life Long Friends.
George grew up in 12 Points. He graduated grade school from Sacred Heart in 1968 and attended Schulte High School in1969. He also graduated from State Lab High School in 1972 and from Indiana State University in 1977 receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. George later received his Masters of Education from Indiana State University in 1986.
He had many life-long friends from Sacred Heart, Schulte & State High School. While in school he was active in Sports, CYO and 4-H.
He was Athletic Director of CYO for many years. George enjoyed family, friends, neighbors, music, animals, outdoors, sports, concerts, flowers & gardening. He was a part of his family's Friends Forever group which has been meeting since the Korean war. He was the Host & Head Chef of the 10th Street Neighborhood Group with numerous cook outs for many years. Founder & Chef / Host of George's Famous Chili cook out for over 25 years.
He worked for many years, at an early age & into his adult years on The Knezevich Family Farms growing Flowers, Fruits and Vegetables He worked in the Floral Industry but he Dedicated most of his life in Academics as an Educator, Teacher, Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of students, Athletic Director, Counselor, and Coach.

Visitation will be on Sunday. June 28th, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. On Monday, June 29th, 2026,Mass will be at
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be prior to Mass on Monday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
