Gina Marie Sharps

Gina Marie Sharps, 45, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Union Hospital. She was born on August 16, 1972, in Taunton, Massachussetts to Eugene D. and Carolyn E. (Brown) Texeira.

Gina is survived by her daughter, Anna Jean Sharps of Rosedale; son, Troy Morris Sharps III of Rosedale; mother, Carolyn Texeira of Interlachen, FL; two sisters, Luv Dietzel of Starke, FL and Barbra Texeira of Interlachen, FL; a brother, Eugene Texeira of North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Harriett Texeira of Taunton, MA; her fiancé, Chris Wilson of Terre Haute; an uncle, Bobby Texeira; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Texeira; paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents, and a brother.

Gina worked as a Registered Nurse for Union Hospital in ICU and at Union Hospital in Clinton in the ER and ICU. Working for Union Health for 26 years, she started as a housekeeper and CNA. Gina was a member of the American Critical Care Nurses Association. She loved to dance and cook and watch volleyball and track. She doted on her dogs, Karma, Harley, and Luna; and her cat, Zima.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 4 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, at the funeral home. Gina will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
