Obituary of Grace Eleanor Inglert Branam
Grace Eleanor Branam, 102, of Terre Haute, passed into the arms of her Savior and waiting loved ones at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013, surrounded by family. She was born to Herbert Inglert and Juanita Pence Inglert on May 5, 1911, in Terre Haute. She married Everett Branam on June 17, 1929, but was widowed after 38 years on June 22, 1967. Grace and Everett reared six children. Grace cooked and ran the Majestic Café at North Terre Haute for three years. She retired from the Vigo County Recorder’s Office after 20 years to enjoy traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, and long chats with family and friends. Grace embraced life and savored every moment because she willfully focused on the positive promise each day offered. Grace is survived by two living children: Everett S. Branam, Jr. and wife Beverly and Ruth Ann Branam Dougherty (Patrick, deceased) and daughter-in-law Juanita Branam (Ted). Awaiting her arrival in Heaven are sons Ted and Tom and daughters Mary Phyllis Branam Koos (Stephen) and Shirley Lynn Branam. Grace is leaving two loving sisters: Wilma Inglert and Jeannine Hoke. Ten siblings preceded her in death: Alice (George) Newkirk, Wilbur (Kathleen) Inglert, Ruth (Herchel) Bouillez, Ester (Lester) Sampson, Herbert (Hettie) Inglert, Albert (Flo) Inglert, John Ed (Julia) Inglert, Ann Inglert, Max Inglert, and Phil Inglert. Graced delighted in her extended family. Everett’s three: Laura Branam (3 children and 3 grandchildren, Kim and Lon McDonald (2 children and 4 grandchildren), and Matthew, deceased (3 children). Ted and Juanita’s nine children, 31 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren: Shirley and Charles Gaston (6 children), Jan and Bill Brock (3 children), Barbara and Dennis Davis ( 4 children), Ted Jr. (3 children), Joe and Karen (5 children), Brad and Jan (4 children), Jim and Kelly (2 children), Josh and Jennifer (4 children), and Lori Ann (deceased). Mary Phyllis’s three: Stephenna and Tim Nichols (3 children), Steve and Jill (2 children), Scott and Maria (3 children), RuthAnn’s three: Sean, Michael (2 children), Bridget and Brian Kelsheimer (2 children). Tommy’s step-daughter Barbara (1 child); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation and funeral services will be hosted by North Terre Haute Christian Church. Family requests friends join them for visitation from 4 to 8 on Thursday, May 23. Grace’s life and celebration of faith will be led by Rev. Bill Brock, assisted by Rev. Dennis Davis and Rev. Charles Gaston at the same location on Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Special thanks to Dr. V.
