
Harry Richard “Sarge” Camp, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, in Signature Healthcare at Terre Haute. He retired as an optical technician, having been employed with Ticknor Optical Lab for many years. He was born July 17, 1931, in Vigo County, Ind., to Franklin Camp and Carrie Ringo Camp.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Wheeler; a son, Barry Camp and his wife Wendy; two brothers, Bill Camp, and Jim Camp and his wife Marsha; four grandchildren, Brock Phillip Salace, Brad Pennington, Deanna Camp and Diana Camp; a great-grandson, Jake Ennis; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Bennie Camp; and a sister, Carolyn Butts.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, going to karaoke and dancing.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites by the Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday.
