

James Walton Hartman, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Regional Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1935, in Ashmore, IL, to Russell and Vivian (Walton) Hartman. He married TeAta Watson on August 25, 1956.
James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the IBEW Local 725. James attended North Terre Haute Christian Church. He loved to crochet, woodwork, and play slot machines. James loved children and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the church. He was an excellent cook. James and his wife loved to travel in their RV and took many trips to New Mexico. He was a member of the Zorah Shrine, 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite; a Master Mason, a member of the Eastern Star, and the VFW.
James is survived by his children, Michael Hartman and partner Kate Watson; Melinda White; Mitchell Hartman and his fiancée Marilyn Jones, all of Terre Haute; granddaughters, Mistie Hartloff and husband Brandon, and Dawn Louise Webster, all of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Brayden, and Brenden Hartloff, all of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years TeAta, and his brother, Larry “Butch” Hartman.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Larimer officiating and military rites. James will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
