When I first stepped foot on the States as an international student. You are one of the first friends I've made. Before my international friends and I had a US license and cars. You were the one who always helped us out getting groceries. You have always been a good friend. You helped us make new friends by inviting us to party. It's sad to hear the news 2 years ago. I felt like there's a need for me to express how grateful I am to have a friend like you and my regrets of not being able to make it to your memorial.

              I can't believe it's been almost two years since I last saw you. Heard your voice. Felt the warmth of your hug. And it gets harder everyday knowing I will never be able to again. But I keep on going because I know your proud of who ive become. I know your looking down on me and smiling. And I think I realize that you were too good for this cruel, harsh, and unforgiving world. No I don't think you were. I know you were. Your really were the role model every human being should strive for. I love you Daniel. You were much much more than my older brother. You were and still are. My best friend

Dear Daniel,
I think about you everyday.  I think about all the good times we've had together and of all the things you taught me about compassion and life. I remember just last Thanksgiving you brought me the biggest plate of food because you knew I wasn't going anywhere for Thanksgiving. I will never forget how thoughful of a person you are and how much that meant to me. I never got to tell you, but I think you already knew as you so often did. Always giving and not asking for anything in return. I will always remember the life lessons and all the things you have taught me. I am so luckily to have known you Daniel. You were such a great person it made the people around you better. You will always be in my heart and memories.

Where to begin....Daniel you were the light of my world. When you were born, I wasn't there, cause of your Dad being stationed in Germany but it didn't take you long when all of you came home for you to brighten our lives with your contagious smile and your bright big eyes that sparkled..As you grew into a toddler your blond curly hair just accented your personality and beautiful eyes.As years went by i took care of you when you were in daycare and other times.  You always "took care" of me.  Even one time taking me out to eat, your treat!! ( At Sam's club, on sampler day}.  There are so many wonderful memories of you and your smiling face. I will miss you until I join you in heaven.  Until then, I will always remember your smile and my beautiful memories of the time I spent with you.Love you forever and more .my "oldest Grandson" .  I still have Irving to keep me grounded.Who would know a large pink stuffed flamingo from the Army surplus store would remind you of me. Now everyday I look at him, I smile and say, "hi" to him, and it reminds me of you everytime.

  Daniel  i miss you so much  I will always remember our yard sale days . the laughing, the silly things you got such a kick out of.  you made everyone around you smile just listening to your stories and the way you told them with such intense theory. I find each day just seems to be as hard as the that evening we lost you  , it does,nt get any easier,  but  we know you are with the Lord and in an awesome place, but its  so hard not having you with us. you did so much for so many people and that will never be forgotten and precious nephew neither will you, my love  aunt butchie

   I have no idea where to begin.. 4 months ago today.. We were on our way to Indianapolis. We went shopping for our trip and visited a dive shop. You were sooo happy to get all your own gear. I was so excited that you were finally going with me to travel and dive. We stopped by Bob Evans and had dinner. We talked about our plans and starting over and how blessed we were to have these opportunities. I had no idea that would be our last day together. 
     When we pulled over and you told me to stay in the car.. I did not listen to you and I should have. You were a hero that day, to that family. But everyday since you have been my hero. I often wonder how I will get through each day without you, knowing you were meant to be by my side every step of the way. I know you are with me, somehow and in someway. That is how I carry on, with you.
     You have not only been my brother for these last 22 years but you have been my best friend. I will cherish that forever. I love you so much and I miss you every single day. Please continue to watch over us. You have no idea how proud I am to call you my brother. It's never goodbye.

I miss you everyday, I think about you all the time and I cannot believe I wont be able to share laughs with you again. You had the most distinctive laugh and the biggest smile that ive ever known. God had a better plan for you than here, he must've needed a person to lighten up the place. Nathan and Donovan miss you so much and I wish I could've seen you one last time. My heart is darker since you're gone, and I know what it must feel like to lose a son, because that was what you were. I miss you and love you, and I hope im good enough is this world to see you again...

I can't begin to express how much I truly miss you. To this day I can't believe that you are really gone. You never ceased to amaze me with your kind, loving heart. I will never forget the days id come knocking at your door in tears at 2am and you would sit with me and brush your hands through my hair until I fell asleep. Telling me that everything would be alright.
Driving to Byesville, Ohio to come get me out of a bad situation. No questions asked. All our random debates about things that no one but you and I would debate about. I will FORVER hold the cross necklace you gave me on my 16th birthday in the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse, the wooden dolphin you brought me back from Mexico, and the teddy bear you gave me on New Years. Lastly the fact that you had cared so much to take the time and send me flowers on my 18th birthday because I had moved states and had no friends. I miss you sooo much. Never will I ever forget you! Watch over me like I know you have been. I'll see you again some day soon. I love you, john. <3

 Daniel was truly one of a kind, the time I got to spend with him was filled with love and laughter.  Just his presence in the room would fill the place with kindness and happiness. That's just who he was and his positive energy was truly contagious. May his soul rest in peace and may the rest of us strive to live more like him.

Daniel, although you were called home too soon, your life has lasting meaning to those you leave behind. The memories you shared with family and friends will provide comfort and smiles in the years to come. Some of the fondest memories you've given me are:

- your smile and laugh that never changed since you were 4 yrs old
- lazy afternoon naps on the living room sofa during the weekends in Arizona
- trying to teach you how to swim and having to resort to just jumping with you in the pool
- taking a midnight stroll at rest stop during an Indiana to Arizona road trip while your mom and Noel slept in the car
- convincing you that it wasn't a good idea to take the frog we found at the rest stop with us to Arizona
- the smiles you and Noel had when you got a Mickey Mouse TV and PS2 for your room
- playing Mortal Combat with you on your PS2 until your mom told us to stop :)
- the smile and hugs you and Noel gave me at the airport after my five year absence 
- taking you and Noel out for sushi to meet my family after almost a decade... and proud to see how both of you have grown up

I grieved in your passing and was saddened in the loss of future memories yet unmade.  But my heavy heart is eased in knowing that you are in a better place and at peace.  Cheers, buddy!

I remember like today the day I met you; you were a happy little boy playing hide and seek.  I saw you transform from a little boy to a teenager and from a teenager to young adult. Always happy, positive, every day was a new day no matter how bad your previous day was. Your contagious smile/laugh keep everyone around you happy. I am glad I had the opportunity to tell you how proud I am of you. I love you and always will. Until we meet again…

I have known of you for so long but until recently did I get to experience how kind and genuine your were. I loved the times we had together and will cherish them always. You were so upbeat and always brought joy to others around you. I think about you daily and how much fun we had hanging out with one another. I will never forget you, and will always be there for your family. You can count on it buddy.

Daniel, I always will miss the hilarious jokes and how funny you were. Also your laugh was probably the most recognizable and unique laugh I've ever heard. I could always look up to you for  how much you enjoyed life.

Whenever I look at your picture, I hear your voice. Whenever I talk about our last family camping trip, I hear your laugh. We had so much fun and I will forever treasure those memories. You left us way to soon and I will never accept that you are not physically here on this earth. I was not surprised when I heard you were helping another family when you died. You have a heart of gold and was always putting others needs before your own. You were wise beyond your years. When I listen to your CD, I feel your sprit and know you are singing along with me. It was a pleasure to meet you and spend time with you and your amazing family this summer. Your smile and laugh were one of a kind and one that I'll never forget. Although, I just met you a few months ago, your acts of kindness and love for life were very transparent. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet such an amazing young man. I don't know where to begin other than Daniel,  you were literally a ONE of a kind type of guy,  your whole family is definitely special.  I'm so happy I got to hear you and Noel's crazy stories and adventures one last time. I know I'm gonna do my best to be the best friend I can and be there for your sister.  Wish more than anything you guys would have made it to my house that night. Fly high above us! Watch over your family!  Everyone loves and misses you so much already! Rest easy my friend ??

I don't know where I could begin or where I could end with words to say about you bro. Without a doubt one of my best friends, and one of the greatest people I have ever met. Though you moved years ago we kept in touch, shared memories of our past in Virginia and our experiences of the present. I could tell stories about you for days. All of them I can end with "that was Dugger". Completely selfless and always a joy to be around. Once someone met you they didn't forget your name. Just such an all around amazing person. I still got that drumstick bro. Another one of your acts of kindness that will never be forgotten. It'll never leave my possession. I'm gonna miss you so much.

I only had the pleasure of knowing you for a short time.  You were a truly happy person that had a wonderful friendly, fun spirit about you that was one of a kind. I will never forget your laugh. Your presence will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of knowing you.  Thoughts and prayers for your family.

I don't even know where to begin. We had shared so many important memories of our lives together, you had truly become a part of my family and I believe I had become a part of yours. Even with the way things had ended that part never changed. You had always been there for me in times that no one else was. It's been a few weeks since you've passed Dugger, and I miss you more and more every day. It's been hard, but reminiscing about the great times that we shared, and how great of friends we were is what's keeping me going. Not only friends, but you were my brother. When I moved up there I knew nobody and you took me in to the clan as one of your own, and I am forever grateful for that. I feel so honored to call you my friend, you touched so many peoples lives. Seeing someone you know, so close in age, pass is such a hard concept to grasp. The only reasoning that comes to my mind in the situation is that you,(Daniel) have done everything you were meant to do while being placed on this earth. God Bless your forever young soul. Daniel was not only my friend but truly part of my extended family.  No matter how much time would pass, when we saw each other next it was like we just saw each other yesterday. I am truly going to miss seeing his smile and hearing his laugh. Daniels life was too short but I take comfort knowing that his memory will live on through friends and family telling stories and laughs. I am a sister to the family that Daniel helped on his last day here on Earth. I know that what he did for them that day was an extreme help to lighten their burden that day. Little did any if us know that God had a special appointment with Daniel that night or that He had planned in meeting him their at all, but as we can see... His hand was there all over the place on that special day. Although it has brought pain for your family to lose a family member that night, he saved many if my family members... And although he is now gone, his memory will linger on in your hearts forever and it will also now linger in ours as well. He has forever become a part of our lives. For that day not only his soul left this Earth, but my grandma's did as well and anytime we think if her we will think if him as well. I don't know any if Daniel's family, but my heart has broken along with yours and there hasn't been a day gone by where u haven't sent many prayers up to God since that day. Prayers of strength and peace for your family and prayers if thanks for Gods protection on everyone that night. May we all be strengthened by the legacy of Daniel's life. For the past few years John was like part of the family. We used to have late night talks about our larger than life dreams and futures. Dugger was probably the most generous person I've ever met, and he was always willing to help. We had some great memories, light nights playing Mario Party, family cookouts, movie nights, and great laughs. Anyone that knew Dugger and his laugh knows that he is the kind of guy you never forget.

I have wonderful memories shared with my Nephew Daniel and our family. I cherish each one and will miss him very much. Although I never had the privilege to meet John, I felt like I knew him.  He was a great friend to my son Billy while they were at Lakeland, and Billy talked about him all of the time.  My prayers and sympathy to his entire family and all of his friends.

John lived next to us over the last year. For the entire duration, I cannot recall a time when he wasn't smiling and open for conversation....always polite and always friendly. He will be truly missed in our community.
