Judith Anne Conner

Judith (“Judy”) Anne Conner, age 69, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born July 12, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri and later moved to Indiana, graduating from Harrison High School in Evansville before attending Indiana State University on academic scholarship. Judy loved being a student at ISU where she excelled in both academic and extra-curricular pursuits, receiving the Alan C. Rankin Distinguished Senior Award in 1976 and becoming captain of the Sparkette Dance Team. She was a leader at her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, and actively involved in student government. After receiving her Bachelor and Master’s degree, Judy launched her 34-year career at ISU where she demonstrated her passion for elevating students, staff, and the university through her dedicated work ethic and infectious enthusiasm. Judy eventually served as the Director of the Hulman Memorial Student Union, the position she held until her retirement in 2012. Throughout her career she enjoyed working with wonderful colleagues who became some of her dearest friends.

Judy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She cared deeply, loved fully, and laughed often. Family and friends meant the world to Judy. She loved people and her energy and positivity lit up the room. She was an amazing mother, who loved her sons beyond words. Judy and her husband John spent countless nights and weekends supporting their sons’ athletic pursuits, traveling throughout the state and across the country for tennis, soccer, and basketball tournaments. Judy loved spending time outdoors with her husband on their forested farm—gardening, taking golf cart rides, birdwatching, enjoying sunsets on the front porch, and capturing natural beauty through photography. Judy loved annual vacations to the family cabin on Wakomata Lake in Canada and the family condo on Sanibel Island in Florida. Many treasured family memories were made on those vacations throughout the years, and the constant through it all was Judy’s warm spirit, bright smile, and infectious laugh.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Edna Sieck, and by her father and mother-in-law, Donald and Joy Conner. She is survived by her husband, John Conner, whom she married on August 25, 1978, sons, Derek Conner and Scott Conner (Pallavi), sister, Susie Proctor (Gary), and grandchildren, Vela and Kush Conner. She is also survived by many beloved in-laws and extended family throughout Indiana, Colorado, and Washington state, whom she loved so much. She was also a proud dog mom to Mika and Molly.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Park, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute, IN 47805.
