

Judith Carolyn Edington, 86, was called home to Jesus on September 15, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on January 3, 1939 to James and Bertha McGrew. She was one of six children and is survived by her brother, Mark (Jane) McGrew.
Judy and her husband, Bill, were married 47 years until he passed in 2002. Together they raised six children, ran a business, made countless memories, and built a large family that continues to love and care deeply for one another. Judy was preceded in death by Bill and their eldest son, Tim Edington. She is survived by her children, Teresa (Gary) Stroud, Kenny Edington, Melanie (John) Pusich, Scott (Jenifer) Edington, and Julie Edington.
She was the proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Bill (Erin) Edington, Michelle (Ian) Lutz, Jason (Michelle) Edington, Mary (Danny) Coulston, Michael (Amber) King, Tim (Jenna) Edington, Ashley Edington, Andy (Kelcee) Pusich, Zach (Amber) Edington, Leslie (Mike) Clendenen, Emily (Chad) Meadows, Ethan (Allison) Edington.
Her blessings continued with 31 great-grandchildren: Kellee (Sam), Will (Hunter), Carson, Cage, Nick, Katy, Noah, Natalie, Tristan, Jesse, Pacey, Laura, Annabel, Liam, Charlie, Owen, Josie, Maizee, Kennedy, Sadie, Landon, Quenten, Jensen, Henry, Charlotte, Wesley, Baeley, Ryder, Jackson, Brandon, Hunter; and 5 great-great-grandchildren, with another on the way: Greyson, Rylee, Samantha, Daisy, Miriam.
Judy’s faith in God was unwavering and she lived by Jesus’s teachings. She quietly nurtured and ministered to others in countless ways, always seeking to serve. She faithfully served her community by operating her church’s food bank, a role that greatly fulfilled her. She kept a prayer journal, which she poured over every night. At home, she often expressed her love through cooking and baking. Her famous chocolate chip cookies, in particular, were a sweet reminder of her warmth and care. Judy leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will live on for generations.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Monte Vincent and Andy Fishback. The visitation and funeral will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to support the food pantry at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church.
