Judy Jo Moats

Judy graduated from Otter Creek High School in 1961. Judy served as a baker for the Vigo County School Corporation for several years. She had a love for cooking and baking for her family and friends as well. Judy enjoyed crocheting and was known for making baby blankets to donate to the local hospital. Judy also enjoyed playing bingo with old and new friends, including those from Sycamore Manor.

On July 26, 1963, Judy married John W. Moats, Sr. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2019 after 56 years of marriage. Also, preceding her in death were two infant daughters, Jill Ann Moats and Jennifer Jo Moats, a stepbrother, Monte Barrett, and a brother-in-law, Charles Eldridge.

Judy is survived by her son, John W. Moats, Jr. (Pamela); two granddaughters, Dr. Katelynn Liebermann (Stephen) and Megan Moats (Kyle), a great granddaughter, Ava Liebermann; sisters: Joan Eldridge and Michelle Murray (Steve); stepbrothers: Mark Barrett, Mike Barrett, and Matthew Barrett; several nieces and nephews, including Linda Hochstetler (Rob) and Judy Everly (Bryan); special friend Wanda Puckett and several high school friends.

Graveside services for Judy will be held on a forthcoming date at Roselawn Memorial Park.
