Katherine "Kat" May Easton

Katherine “Kat” May Easton, a lifelong Terre Haute resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Union Hospital at the age of 79. Kat was born on March 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Leroy and Hazel (Lafferty) Cook. On October 5, 1953, Kat was united in marriage to her long time sweetheart and best friend, Lawrence “Fat” Easton, Sr., who survives. Kat was a loving wife and mother and deeply loved her family. She adored her grandchildren, and they adored her. A woman with a heart of gold, Kat will forever be remembered for her kind and compassionate qualities. She enjoyed vacationing, especially to Florida and Las Vegas, as well as shopping, especially at K-Mart.

In addition to her beloved sweetheart of 64 years and loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence “Fat” Easton, Sr., Kat leaves behind her children, Sandra and husband John Johnston of Terre Haute, Susan Isles of Terre Haute and Kathy and husband Ralph Ross of Terre Haute; daughter-in-law, Kim Easton of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, Brian and wife Jenny, Mike, Jamie, Amber, Amy, Abby and husband Kraig, J.R., Stephen and Jimmy, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; sisters, Francis Hensley of Indianapolis and Carolyn Marquis of Terre Haute, along with several loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Kat was welcomed home to heaven by her dear son, Larry “Buddy Boy” Easton, Jr. and her sister, Barbara.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of Kat’s funeral at 2 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
