Linda Murl Akers

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Esther Murl Maxwell; her sister, Sharon Jean; the father of her children, Lyle "Buzz" Johnston; and her beloved husband, Jack Akers. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Rundel; and her daughter in-law, Andrea Johnston.

Linda had 3 children: Rob Johnston, Ginny Rundel (Steve), and Tom Johnston (Candy). She had 5 loving grandchildren: Courtney Miller (Zach), Breanna Johnston, Trent Johnston, Trevor Johnston (Kaity), and Avril Clark. She also had 2 great-grandchildren: Charlotte Miller and Eisley Johnston. She leaves behind 2 beloved sisters: Debra McCullough (Dewey) and Myrna Easton (Randy); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Linda was a devoted Christian and attended Cross Lane Community Church in Terre Haute, prior to moving to Indianapolis. She loved her family and loved being a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She also loved spending time with her sweet little dog, Sofie, in her later years. Linda enjoyed watching westerns and eating ice cream, but especially enjoyed the Maxwell sampler platter of desserts, made popular by her daddy, Bob.

Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 4 -8pm. Service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11am at Roselawn Funeral Home with Steven Rundel officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
