Linda J Akers

She is survived by daughters Sherry Hartleroad [Brad] Terre Haute, Christy Taylor [Richard] West Terre Haute and Jenny Todd [Mike]Terre Haute; son Larry Akers, Jr. [Dawn]; 9 grandchildren Ryan Hartleroad, Jessica Akers, Cody Akers, Kayla Switzer, Allison Mauk, Josh Todd, Natalie Mauk, Emma Todd and Reagan Taylor; 3 great- grandchildren Easton Hartleroad, Bryleigh Switzer and Noah Akers; sister Sue Hellmann [Phil]; nephew Michael Hellmann. She was preceded in death by husband Larry O. Akers who died April 27, 2017, her parents and her niece Michelle Matteson.

Linda was a graduate of Garfield High School. She retired as the office manager for Sackrider & Company, Inc. She liked to read, enjoyed knitting and taking Florida vacations. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2 – 5pm at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 Lafayette Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47805 with Services to follow at 5 pm in the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. We would also like to thank the staff at the Cannon Inn Assisted Living Facility for their care and support.
