Linda Lou Pittman, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Gibson Center for Hospice at Union Hospital. She was born on January 28, 1936 in Terre Haute to Edward and Myrtle (Cannady) Bruner.
Linda is survived by her children, Mary K. Pittman, Wilma L. Pittman, William A. Pittman, Dale L. Pittman, and Martin E Pittman; grandchildren, Ashley N. Atkinson and Lacey M. Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Allison N. Atkinson, Lynnlee M. Atkinson, Hayden M. Atkinson-Schatz, and Hunter G. Atkinson-Schatz; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Pittman; and all of her siblings.
Linda worked for over 20 years as a custodian at ISU, but her favorite job was taking care of her family.
She always looked forward to being surrounded by family during the holidays and especially enjoyed cooking for everyone. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda instilled in her grandchildren to love and care for family, to always lend a helping hand, and to see the good in others. Affectionately known as Granny to her granddaughters, she was a shoulder to cry on, confidant, and best friend. She will be truly missed.
