Lucille Ann Smith

Lucille Ann Smith, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2020 at home.

She was born on March 9, 1927 in Brazil to Omer Cox and Christine Earp Cox.

Lucille married the love of her life, Logan Smith, on August 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2014.

Together, they attended Indianapolis 500 for over 50 years. Logan affectionately referred to Lucille as his "Hunny Bunny".

Lucille was a member of 8th Avenue Baptist Church; and had been employed as a clerk at Meis and Elder- Beerman Department Stores, where she wore her Christmas Light Up Earrings dazzling the customers.

Surviving are her daughter, Rita A. Mankin; two granddaughters, Angie (Troy) Ramey, and Melissa (Chris) Bailey; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Macy, Krislynn, Marlee, Madisyn, and Logan.

Lucille enjoyed collecting Angels and Butterflies.

Private family services were held at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Interment was at Highland Lawn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced in the Tribune Star.
