

Marjorie Pauline (Vance) Showecker was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 12, 1926, to Charles and Margaret (Noffke) Vance. She graduated from Ben Davis High School and attended Indiana University.
Marge was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Tri Kappa and Newcomers. She was First Lady to Potentate of Shrine when her husband was Potentate in 1971. She loved cooking, hosting and entertaining friends and family, reading and Bridge. In her younger adult years, Marge enjoyed camping. She also enjoyed sewing for home and costumes. Above all, friends and family were everything to Marge.
In 1945, Marge married Edward Showecker. Together they had three children: Sue Ann, Edward “Ted” and Lynn. Edward preceded Marge in death in 2003.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, Charles and Margaret; a brother, Robert Vance; a grandson, Joshua Mast and a great-grandson, Julian Mast.
Marge is survived by her children; Sue Ann Showecker, Edward “Ted” Showecker and spouse Twila and Lynn Mast and spouse John; grandchildren, Amy Stein, Molly (Dan) Parker, Meghan Showecker, Abbie (Danny) McCullough, Christopher (Amanda) Mast, and Jay (Alexa) Mast; great-grandchildren, Haydn, Kennedy, Ivie, Oliver, Violet, River, Jenna, Kylee and Madelyn; and great-greatgrandchildren: Willow and Myles.
Services for Marge will be on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Noon at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family has many thanks for the love of the team from Hands that Serve, specifically Lindsey, Marlena and Ola and to everyone from hospice who helped keep Marge in her apartment she treasured at Westminster until the end.
