

Mary Martha Nickless, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away on April 17, 2014, at her home. She was born on May 16, 1928, in Terre Haute, to Alexander and Frances (Dove) Carsman. She married John B. Nickless on February 4, 1949, and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her three sisters: Irma Gulitz, Helen Pratt, and Margaret “Peggy “ Slover.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Maplewood Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ochs of Paris, IL; her son, John Nickless and his wife Deanna of Sullivan. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Emily, Brian, and Bradley Ochs; Eric, Ryan, and Andrew Nickless; four great-grandchldren, Benjamin, Paul, Samantha, and Ayden Nickless; two step-great-grandchildren, Gaven and Jayben Bailey. She is also survived by a nephew, Gordon Gulitz and his wife Betty of Tampa, FL.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Craig Wininger officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
