Mary Ellen Ostby

Mary Ellen was born in Lafayette on October 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nell (Ransom) Garrison. She loved to read and was an avid newspaper crossword puzzle worker and cross stitcher. Her love of her family and friends will live on in the hearts of those she touched for generations to come.

Mary Ellen leaves behind her beloved daughter, Shannon Harrison of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Brandie and husband Chris Snapp of Terre Haute, Bryanna and husband Tony Wegner of Terre Haute, Erica Hull of California and Clayton Hull of California. Mary Ellen was the loving and cherished Great-Nana of Kelise Snapp, Macie Snapp, Alex Hughes, Blake Wegner, Conner Wegner and McKenna Hull.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Joe Hull; brother, Joseph Garrison and sisters, Illene Heath and Margie Norman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until Mary Ellen’s Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 Noon at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Rev. Curtis Mitchell will officiate with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mary Ellen’s entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Springhill Village and Vista Care Hospice for the compassionate care provided during her final days.
