

Matthew Edward Burris, 42, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at 6:25 a.m. in Union Hospital, after a brief illness with cancer. He was born in Terre Haute, March 13, 1973, to Harry Edward and Shirley Lowe Burris. Matt was co-founder and managing partner for Wellness For Life, and also owned Dragonbilt Motorcycles, for which he won multiple awards for his custom building. Matt loved his family very much and had many dear friends, and loved the Indianapolis Colts.
He is survived by his parents, Harry Edward Burris (Verylene) and Shirley Zablo (Carl); as well as his children, Dalton Burris, Camden Layton, Colt Burris and Lailah Burris; and his fiancée, Casey Carson. Also surviving are four brothers, Craig, Brent, Brad and Doug; and three sisters, Jill, Holly and Merrilee. In addition, Matt is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dog, Angus. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Forrest Burris; and grandparents, Russell and Mary Lowe; and uncle, Russell Kurt Lowe.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Grandi officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will take place at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Serving as pallbearers will be Rich Dunkin, Jim Jensen, Jay Utz, Brad Burris, Doug Burris and Chris Laesch.
