Michael Wayne Rains

Michael Wayne Rains, 53, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 9, 1962, in Greencastle, to Melvin and Lucille (Douglas) Rains.

Michael is survived by his wife of 7 and a half years, Judy Rains of Terre Haute; his father, Melvin Rains of Fontanet; children, Jeremy Rains and wife Hillary of Virginia, Michael Rains and girlfriend Braiden Jackson of Brazil, Matt Rains and wife Whitney of Brazil; step-children, Larry Dietz and wife Chris of Terre Haute and LaRysa Orman and husband Mic of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Nolan, Avaen, and Rylan Rains, Callie and Carter Rains, Corbin, Russell and Dylan Jackson, Nasya, Larry, and E.J. Dietz, and Hailey, Kenzee, and Max Marietta; brothers, Brad Rains of Brownsburg and Mark Rains and wife Kristi of Avon; a sister, Sheri Rains of Brazil; and nephews and a niece, Ashton and Austin Rains and Jason and Nicole Rains.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Rains.

Michael worked at Sony for 30 years. He worked for many years in the IT Department. He enjoyed working on computers and playing with gadgets. He was a kind and generous man who would do anything for anybody. He doted on his little dog, Peanut. Michael will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with Reverend Lance Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
