

Michael Nash (Ward) Woodworth, 79, of Terre Haute, passed from this life to eternal life on October 1, 2016 at Westminster Village Health and Rehabilitation, with his family by his side. Michael was born in East Greenwich, Rhode Island to Richard W. Ward and Margaret Nash Ward. He graduated from Staunton Military Academy in 1955 where he was a member of the ROTC. Michael graduated from Babson College, Wellesley Ma in 1958 majoring in Investments where he earned his BS degree. He was also a member of the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Army National Guard. He retired from Columbia House in October of 1994. Upon retirement, Michael and his wife, Linda, moved to Pine Lakes Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. While in Florida, Michael was active in the community. He was an avid golfer, Club Championship member, and was involved in numerous club activities and programs.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Elizabeth, of Wayland, MA. He is also preceded in death by brother, Denny Ward; half-brother, Richard Balsam; and step-mother, Jeanette Ward Hastings, whom he was very fond of. Also preceding him in death are Elbert and Marie Whitehouse and friend, Ralph Whitehouse.
Michael is survived by wife, Linda; his daughters, Nancy of Chicago, IL and Anne of Natick, MA; sons, Richard, wife Ellie and daughters Mimi and Annie, of Terre Haute, Michael, wife Sarah and children Lucy and Will of Lexington, KY. Michael is also survived by his step-son, Kevin, wife Tammy and children Tyler, Brendan, Alex, Bradey and Abbi King of Terre Haute; step-daughter, Kelli, husband Peter and daughters Elizabeth and Ashley Frederick and son Noah Popp of Noblesville. Michael is also survived by brother, Tony Woodworth and wife Virginia of Wellesley Hills, MA; sister-in-law, Sue Ward of Centerville, MA; brother and sister-in-law Johnnie and Nancy King of Mahomet, IL; brother-in-law James and Sandy Whitehouse of Marietta, GA. He is also survived by special friend, Joan Whitehouse, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Mayrose; Hospice of the Wabash Valley; nurses, Amy, Wendy, Dierdre and Cathy; aides, Faye, Gwen, Melissa and Danielle; also a special thanks to social worker, Hailee. We wish to also thank the staff, nurses, CNAs at Westminster Village for their compassionate care and kindness.
Visitation will be Friday October 7th at Roselawn Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. Military honors will take place at 7p.m. by Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 8th at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Dana Newhouse officiating. Graveside services will be held at Weston, Massachusetts on a later date. In lieu of flower donations may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley or Trinity Lutheran Church, Terre Haute, IN.
