Nancy Jean Ross

Nancy Jean Catlin Ross, 69, of Rosedale, went to be with her Lord on March 14, 2017. She was born on July 14, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Dorothy and John Catlin. She grew up in the area, attending Wiley High School and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. She was very active in the community and was a member of the Red Hats Society, Beta Sigma Phi, FOP Auxiliary, Charlie's Angels Bowling Team, and more recently the Terre Haute Bible Center. She enjoyed bowling, motorcycles and sewing. Anyone who knew Nancy knew she was an avid reader. She almost always had a book in her hand.

She will always be loved and missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Dorothy Dugan; and cousin, Ronald Dugan.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Ross; children, Chris (Dawn) Ross, Tracy Ross, John (Cathy Cook) Dierdorf, Carson, Colin, and Clay Cook, and Cali Dierdorf, Todd (Jessica) Ross, Heather (Jeff) Cox and Michael Dierdorf; grandchildren, Rick (Suzie) Ross, Katelyn (Jason) Ross, David (Katelyn) Ross, Dustin Gilbert, Valera (Josh) Long, Cheyanne Wirth, Erin Dierdorf, Ethan Ross, Cora Ross, Kolin (Marissa Shelburn) Cox, Cameron Cox and Riley Dierdorf; great-grandchildren, Karson Cox, Zane Ross, Herma Ross, Brantley Long, Hadley Long, Michael Gant and Karder Wirth; sister, Janice (Wilbur) Jordan; nephew, Todd (Chasity) Jordan; niece, Tonya Jordan; uncle, LeRoy Dugan; great-nephew, Todd Jordan Jr.; cousins, Michelle and Marty Phillips, Terry and Carrol Dugan and children Craig, Elizabeth and Steve, and Maureen, Tony and Lauren Angelo; and many, many friends.

A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Nash officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Nancy's honor to Terre Haute Bible Center.
