
Norma J. Cook, 88, of Texas and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Jan. 5, 2015. She was born in Paris, Ill., on Nov. 14, 1926, to Cecil and Mamie (Walden) Hinds, and they have preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Terre Haute. She was a graduate of Indiana State University and a retired legal secretary for the Tofaute and Spelman Law firm.
Her husband, Jesse Cook, whom she married Sept. 9, 1947, preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2005. She is survived by three sons, Randall Cook (Theresa), Bradley Cook (Barbara), and Brian Cook; one granddaughter, Julianna Harrison (Cameron); nieces, Brooke and Gail; and a nephew, Blair. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Suella and Eleanor.
In keeping with her wishes, private graveside services will be at Roselawn Memorial Park on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ryan Sowers officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 187, Memphis, TN 38101-9941. Online condolences may be made at:
