Ola "Micky" Weir Bird

Ola “Micky” Weir Bird, 97, of Terre Haute, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Union Hospital following a cardiac condition. She was born in Camargo, Illinois on June 13, 1920 to Ora Lee and Margaret Pearl Mershon Sanderson. Micky was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, a brother; and Walter A. Weir, the father of her children. She then married James L. Bird and he also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Terry Weir and wife Diane of Terre Haute; daughter, Paula Weir Bland and husband Donald of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Pamela Pickens and husband Jeff of Terre Haute, Kimberly Weir of St. Augustine, Florida, and Tommy Weir and wife Basma of Dubai; great-grandchildren, Jedidiah, Olivia and husband Todd, and Lillian, all of Terre Haute, Diana and Terry of Dubai, Emily Paige Weir of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Dean Sanderson of Peoria, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Micky worked for 28 years at Union Hospital as the payroll department supervisor. She enjoyed reading, going for walks, doing crafts, and working both jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. Her cooking was loved by her whole family. She was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of North Terre Haute and was a member for 60 years. She loved and served the Lord in many capacities. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 15 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor Brett Parks officiating. Micky will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
