
Orville was born in Terre Haute on April 6, 1933, the son of Orville Lewis and Lucinda (Fiscus) Barnett, and was a graduate of Wiley High School.
Mr. Barnett proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 19 in Terre Haute, Zorah Temple Shrine, and he played Xylophone for the Shriners Band. Bud worked as a counselor at Terre Haute Federal Prison for 26 years until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed woodworking, a craft that he handed down to his sons and grandchildren. Bud loved his family and was a friend to everyone and could make everyone forget their troubles and laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Barnett; a son Timothy Barnett, (Mary Jo), Terre Haute; six grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley I. Barnett; a son, Michael R. Barnett, 2 brothers, Richard Barnett, and William Barnett; and a sister Maxine McMains.
A private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
