Pamela Sue Thombleson-Cherepkai, 61, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at Union Hospital, surrounded by the family she loved so fiercely. Pam was born on September 26, 1964, in Washington, Indiana, to Robert Thombleson and Connie Catt. She spent her life dedicated to the people she loved, always putting family first and making sure those around her knew they were cared for.
Pam is survived by her mother, Connie Catt; her daughters, Brittanie Creasey (Tyler) and Brandie Cherepkai (Alex); Her life partner and best friend Brent Cherepkai; her brothers, Jeffrey Thombleson, Scott Thombleson (Lori), and Shane Catt (Tammy); Step siblings Jimmy Hay and Michelle Belcher; her beloved grandchildren, Haidyn and Hunter; and a new grandson who is expected to arrive soon and who she was already eagerly anticipating meeting. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones whose lives were made better by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thombleson; her bonus father, Ronnie Catt; her grandparents, Ruth and Forest Bratton; and Blanche and Henry Thombleson.
Pam was a devoted mother, Mamaw, friend, and employee. For 16 years, she worked at Menards in North Terre Haute, where she built friendships that became family. Her coworkers knew her as dependable, hardworking, and always willing to help. Outside of work, Pam’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Whether it was attending cheerleading competitions, soccer games, volleyball matches, or simply spending time together, she showed up every chance she got. If Haidyn was performing, playing, competing, or even just breathing in the general direction of an event, chances are Pam was in the stands cheering her on.
Pam loved to travel, spend hours playing games on her tablet, and try her hand at gardening. While her flowers may not have always shared her enthusiasm for being planted, she never stopped trying to make them grow. Her determination, sense of humor, and love for life’s simple pleasures will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Pam leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, loyalty, laughter, and countless memories. Though her family is heartbroken by her loss, they find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will remain with them forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Maddox-Woods Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service immediately following at Roselawn Cemetery.
In honor of Pam, her family encourages those attending to share a story, a laugh, or a memory—because if Pam taught us anything, it’s that life’s best moments are the ones spent with the people you love.
