Peter Arthur Blomgren
October 16, 1980 – January 19, 2022
IN THE CARE OF
Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park
On the morning of Wednesday, January 19, 2022, Peter A. Blomgren, 41, completed his earthly adventure, leveling up to his best adventure – worshipping forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on October 16, 1980, in Dallas, Texas, Peter was welcomed into the world by Jerry and Elizabeth (Mawdsley) Blomgren and his older sister, Sharon.
The reason for his mother’s gray hair, Peter was a handful from a young age. Whether it was taking apart the VCR at age 6, breaking bones during daredevil acts, and literally playing with fire, Peter’s antics kept his family on their toes.
While attending Ozark Christian College, Peter met his future wife, Crystal. His creativity and bizarre sense of humor eventually won her over. He was a habitual practical joker, a trait that he carried throughout his entire life, and the fun he infused into life is one of the many things that Crystal loved about him. Peter and Crystal decided to set out on adventure together on July 8, 2005.
Peter was a devoted husband to Crystal and when he became a father to Dainyah Grace, Moriah Truth, and Adaliah Psalm, he nailed the role of being a dad, despite being severely outnumbered. Peter loved being a husband and father. Nothing delighted him more than when Dainyah and Moriah accepted Christ and were baptized. He looked forward to the day when Adaliah does the same. Peter always made time to spend with the girls, from taking them on dates and hosting movie quote competitions with them.
Peter worked as an Advanced Technical Support Specialist for Jack Henry and Associates. He loved the challenge of his position and enjoyed all his coworkers. His career was the perfect fit for him, because it allowed him to work out of his home often which enabled him to spend the most time with his family. Peter was an active member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ where he often ran the soundboard and helped in any way that he could.
A man of many interests, Peter had a gift for music. He loved to play guitar, electric guitar, and bass whenever he could. A self-taught magician, he loved to dazzle people with card tricks. Peter was also more technologically savvy then the rest of his family. He put a lot of work into automating his home, so much so that the kids said that they “lived in a robot.” His only vice was his love of smoking – meat. Recently, Peter decided to try his hand at growing a beard and styling it with new products. He also had an affinity for bowties and fedoras because he wanted to look classy while not blending in.
Peter was a man of devotion: devoted to God, his family, his friends. You couldn’t ask for a more loyal man. He was kind, funny, patient, smart, and a tremendous gift to the many people whose lives he touched.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 16 years, Crystal; daughters, Dainyah Grace, Moriah Truth, and Adaliah Psalm; his mother, Elizabeth Blomgren; sister, Sharon Easterling and husband Rob; uncles, John and wife Charlene, James and wife Mary Ann, and Joel; numerous cousins; and the dog he always wanted, Shiloh. He will also be missed by his extra parents, Myron and Brenda Higerd, and countless other people so blessed to be counted among his friends.
Peter was greeted in Heaven by two of his children that he never got to meet on Earth, Avery (September 25, 2005) and Hosanna Joy (February 1, 2019), along with his father and his grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at Mt. Hope Church of Christ in Webb City. Visitation will be held an hour prior. In honor of Peter, please feel free to wear your favorite bowtie or fedora. Peter loathed dress shoes and could always be found wearing loafers or Vans, so please keep your tootsies comfy and wear your favorite, most comfortable shoes. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Peter’s family.
